The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner is The Best and Cheapest Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Today we’re going to talk about The Works toilet bowl cleaner because it is the best, most inexpensive toilet bowl cleaner on the market. And it is manufactured by Home Care Labs.
It is the best because it’s hydrochloric acid and it works for hard water stains, lime scale, and rust. It is the cheapest because you can find it at Walmart for about $1.50 to $2.00. So, it is inexpensive. But, it is the most expensive if you misuse it.
Only Use The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner for Toilets
This product is not an everyday go-to product. This product takes care of hard water stains, lime scale, and rust. So, if you have a heavy duty toilet cleaning project, this is your product.
It is Savvy Cleaner approved with a clause for toilets only. And I need to say that again, for toilets only. Now there is a product called The Works and it’s for tubs and showers, but this is not that product. If you use the toilet bowl cleaner on your showers, it will eat the rubber seal away at the bottom of your shower. And it removes the places where your shower doors seal.
This is not designed for showers. Use it for toilets only. Use the shower product on the shower, use the toilet product on the toilet.
Be Sure The Works Stays Closed
Now having said that, there was a girl and her name is Brandi.
Brandi’s a professional house cleaner. She did not have insurance, but she goes to a customer’s house and she uses The Works as her go to product.
She has this product in her cleaning caddy. I need to stop for a second and say that this doesn’t have just a screw on lid. This has a childproof lid with a lock on it.
They’re not messing around because this is hydrochloric acid. This is not a toy. You have to squeeze the lid, pinch it and turn it to unlock it. But she didn’t bother to lock it after using it.
Do Not Get it on Carpet or Furniture
So, in her cleaning caddy, it’s bumping up against her other cleaning products. As she hurries through the house, it’s bumping around. And it’s squirting on the customer’s oriental carpet. And she’s not paying attention to that when the customer comes in the door.
The toilet bowl cleaner is leaking down the bottle and it’s leaking down her cloth cleaning caddy. She takes the cleaning caddy and sets it on the customer’s suede couch. No Brandi!
What happens is she completely ruined the customer’s suede couch. She ruined their oriental rug and she had to replace both and it costs thousands of dollars. And like I said, she was not insured.
You Always Want to Have Insurance
So, a couple of notes here. You always want to carry insurance for this reason. I’m sure this was just a mistake. If you make a mistake at a customer’s house as a professional house cleaner, you are responsible. You have to repair the damages. She had to replace the couch and she had to replace the oriental rug.
Take Two Seconds to Close It
When you use this product, take two extra seconds to close it. Those might be the two most important seconds of your job that day.
If you’re going to use this product, you have to be careful. If it does leak out, it’s going to eat away whatever it touches. That’s what it’s designed to do. That’s what makes it the best. There is no need to be afraid of it because we want to use it. Just be aware.
You Can Store It In a Cooler Inside Your Car
Now having said that, this product does not travel well. If it overheats in your car in the middle of the summer, it can expand and release gases. Then when you get inside your car, there are gases and fumes inside your car. There are lots of things that should never be left in a hot car and The Works is one of them.
You want to carry a beer cooler in your car for extreme temperatures if you’re going to use this product. Again, I don’t want you to fear it, but I want you to be aware and I want you to be cautious. There are so many things that can malfunction if you are careless and you don’t pay attention. That’s where it becomes the most expensive.
Excellent product, by the way. So, I highly recommend The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner.
This Is How You Use It
Now I’m going to show you how to use it and we’re going to go through the safety data sheets. That way you can be safe while you’re using it and it won’t scare you. You will be aware and you will be smart.
About the Company
Now a little bit of information about the company.
It started 50 years ago in the garage of someone’s home in Waterloo, Indiana. And at the time there was lots of hard water in all the toilets around. So when they used this in the toilets it worked. Then, they started sharing it with their friends and family. The Works gained popularity by word of mouth. At that time they packaged it in the only available containers and sold it to family and friends.
The company was later sold door to door out of the trunk of a car, and it became this empire. It has since moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia. They have a line of products that surround the cleaning and the bathroom and the toilets. So it’s an amazing line, The Works.
What Are The Hazards?
What are the hazards? The hazards are irreversible eye damage if it gets in your eyes. Do not get this in your eyes.

Handling and Storage
For handling and storage, you want to keep this product locked up when not in use. You want to keep it out of the reach of children. You want to keep it locked and secured tightly. Keep it away from sunlight and keep it in a well-ventilated area.
Here are the exposure controls. If you have heavy duty stains and you want to leave this product in the toilet for a long period of time. let’s say you want to leave it for half an hour to let it soak and dissolve all the hard water stains from your toilet.
If you’re cleaning the bathroom while The Works is working, wear your protective eyewear equipment. Wear your face mask. Keep a well-ventilated area with the fan going or the windows open. And under all circumstances, make sure you’re wearing your protective gloves. Do not let it touch your skin.
In the handling, when you use this product, instead of squeezing it, hold it long ways. That way your hands are on both edges of the container. So, you won’t squish it and it won’t squeeze out when you’re not expecting it.
Physical and Chemical Properties of The Works
Next, the physical and chemical properties. This is a liquid product. It smells like mint. The color is blue and it has a pH of one.
The toxicological information. The acute toxicity with inhalation gases lists at a level four. We don’t want the release of gases inside our vehicle when we’re driving to and from a customer’s house. Treat this product with the utmost respect.
Here is the ecological information. This product is bad for aquatic life, so whatever happens, keep it away from rivers and streams.
The container that this comes in is hazardous waste according to federal regulations. When you recycle it, follow the local, federal, and state regulations for proper disposal.
Now the transportation information. This is a regulated product and it is only allowed to travel by air, land and sea in limited quantities. It must have a corrosive label attached.
And the regulatory information. The Works toilet bowl cleaner complies with all federal regulations for listing in the US, Canada and the Clean Water Act. It is a regulated pollutant.
Let’s Use It
Next, go over to the toilet, lift the toilet lid and put it directly over the toilet and lower it. Once it’s lower and it’s close to the toilet, then I want you to pinch the sides of the lid. I want you to twist and turn it until you hear it unlock.
Once it unlocks, take both hands and tilt it down. When it’s inside the toilet, go around the inside of the toilet bowl with The Works toilet bowl cleaner. After you have dispersed the toilet bowl cleaner, raise it up in an upright position. You’re going to lock it before you remove it from the toilet area. So, if any of it leaks, it leaks into the toilet.
Once you are 100% sure that it’s sealed and you’ve heard it lock, then you remove it from the toilet area and put it away. So that is the process of putting this inside your toilet.
The Step By Step Instructions
And now I’m going to show you step by step how to clean a toilet. The first step is we’re going to remove all the things from around the outside of the toilet. Take away the garbage can, any baskets, books, toilet bowl cleaners, plungers.
Then we’re going to put the toilet bowl cleaner inside the toilet. It can be working while we’re cleaning the outside of the toilet.
Work From the Top
Next, we’re going to take our all-purpose spray and we’re going to spray the toilet down from top to bottom.
Get underneath the lid, the rim, the base of the toilet, and the walls around the toilet. Then we’re going to take a paper towel starting at the top, and we’re going to clean the lid of the toilet.
Then clean the handle of the toilet, the toilet tank, the top of the toilet lid and behind the toilet seat. Clean the top of the toilet seat. Lift up the toilet seat and clean underneath the toilet seat.
Make sure to get the rivets that connect the toilet seat to the toilet itself. We want to clean around the base of the toilet and the wall around the toilet itself, as well as the baseboards. Then we’re going to do that on both sides.
Don’t Forget Underneath the Toilet
Once you finish all that, take the toilet brush and scour the inside of the toilet. Be sure to get all the way down to the bottom of the toilet and all the way up underneath the rim of the toilet.
Now if you’ve done your job, The Works toilet bowl cleaner should have erased all the scum inside the toilet.
Clean the Toilet Brush and Plunger, Too
As I return the toilet brush inside this toilet bowl holder, it’s kind of nasty. At this point, I’m going to go ahead and spray it with my all-purpose cleaner and wipe it down from head to toe. Finally, I’m also going to wipe down the plunger so that it’s nice and shiny for the customers themselves. That just helps complete the overall look of cleanliness.
The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner Leaves the Toilet Bright and Shiny
After we’ve cleaned it, the toilet looks bright and clean and shiny. And that, my friends, is how you clean a toilet from top to bottom.
Alrighty. So now we’ve had a chance to try The Works, the toilet bowl cleaner. Did you know this kills 99.9% of germs and bacteria? And disinfects as it removes hard water stains, lime scale, and rust?
Until we meet again, leave the world a cleaner place than when you found it.
